As a rule, we usually make a business decision based on the analysis of the information we possess through specific, logical criteria. This information is often obtained through education we have completed, or supplier training through companies we engage with. This process usually directs us to a predictable outcome of how we think and operate our business. The problem with this approach is that it is most likely also duplicated by our competitors. Studies are now identifying a new way of thinking and processing information known as lateral thinking. This approach allows us to reach outcomes that are more creative, original, and less predictable allowing us to carve our niche through a more unique business model that can provide us with a strong competitive advantage. Tina Viney is the CEO of APAN and an avid researcher of cutting-edge advances in both business and scientific studies that will best serve the aesthetics industry. In this lecture you will learn:
- What is lateral thinking and how to use it to enhance your business performance
- A comparative analysis of thought
- Advantages and disadvantages
- Effective tools in lateral thinking.
